French B2.2

Scope/semester hours per week A total of 30 classroom teaching hours (2 SWS)
Prerequisites Participation in French B2.1 or proof of comparable prior knowledge in the placement test
Learning objectives The course is orientated towards level B2 of the CEFR. All skills are practised, with a focus on radio and television reports and interviews.

Listening

Students will be able to

- follow most television news programmes, documentaries, interviews and talk shows when standard language is spoken.

Reading

Students will learn

- understand the content/importance of news/articles/reports

- read and understand articles and reports on current issues in which the authors express a particular point of view

Interaction

The students practise

- manage an interview

- Execute and develop thoughts without much help from the interviewer

Oral production

Students learn to

summarise reports from radio and television programmes orally

Writing

Students practise summarising factual information from different sources and media
Proof of performance through

- Regular attendance (evidence is provided by attendance lists)

- Written examination of approx. 90 min

- usually an oral examination lasting approx. 10 min

- Additional work if necessary

ECTS points

- Regular attendance, passing the written exam and the oral exam: 3ECTS

- In some degree programmes, it is possible to acquire an additional ECTS point through additional work.
