International Credit Mobility (ICM)/ Mobility with partner countries

The Erasmus+ programme of the European Union "Mobility with Partner Countries" (Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility or ICM) also provides financial support through Erasmus+ for mobility for teaching purposes(STA, for teaching staff) and for further education purposes(STT, for academic and non-academic staff) at selected non-European partner universities (outgoing). Teaching staff and employees of these selected partner universities can also be sponsored if contractually agreed (incoming).
Within the framework of this programme, Paderborn University cooperates with the partner countries Algeria, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Cameroon, Kenya, Colombia, Morocco, Togo and Tunisia and the following partner universities:

General conditions
Mobility for teaching purposes (STA):
- Eligible persons and conditions of participation: Lecturers and academic staff at UPB who have a contractual employment relationship with UPB. A teaching assignment or fee contract is not sufficient.
- A valid Erasmus+ cooperation agreement with a partner university
- Duration of teaching: 5 to 60 days (without travelling to and from the university) - depending on the availability of funds
- Teaching duration: at least 8 hours of teaching in one week (7 days) or a shorter period. For each additional day of stay beyond one week (7 days): at least 1.6 h per day
Mobility for further education and training purposes (STT):
- Eligible persons and conditions of participation: Persons who have a contractual employment relationship with UPB. A teaching assignment or fee contract is not sufficient.
- Possible duration of the training and further education programme: 5 to 60 days (not including travel) - depending on the availability of funds
Financial support
- Erasmus+ funding is limited. In general, the application deadline is at least 6 weeks before the start of the mobility programme. However, we ask you to apply early in order to be able to plan the Erasmus+ funds better.
- Funding of the days spent at the host institution (by means of daily flat rates), travel allowance (according to distance to the host institution) and additional travel days for the arrival and departure days (0-6 days, depending on requirements and means of transport).
- Under certain conditions, a real cost application can be submitted

Duration of the training or further education programme: 5 to 60 days (excluding travel to and from the course)
The travelling allowance is calculated on the basis of the actual distances between the place of departure and destination of the mobility. The distances are determined using the Commission's calculation tool.
In order to make the programme and its impact on the environment as climate-friendly as possible, mobility with a distance of less than 500 km should generally be covered by low-emission means of transport.

Participants who need more time to travel due to the use of sustainable means of transport can receive up to six additional travel days as part of individual support to cover accommodation costs for travel time before and after mobility in accordance with the guidelines for individual support
- Funding of up to 2 days for non-environmentally friendly means of transport
- Funding of up to 6 days for environmentally friendly means of transport
