What can I do before the O phase?

1.

Register

During and after the O-Phase, you create your study plan and register for events via your university account. It is therefore advisable to create your university account before the O-Phase.

2.

Inform

First of all, find out about the courses offered for your degree programme. The courses offered will be updated again and again until the O-phase. Therefore, you should also read through the schedule again shortly before the start. Before the O-Phase, you can also read through your examination regulations. These contain information on the course of study, the modules and your rights and obligations.

3.

You do not have to register for all events. For example, you can take part in the first semester welcome without registering. You can find information on possible registration on the pages of your subject.

4.

Creating your Timetable

As part of the orientation phase for first semester students, you will receive an introduction and tips for creating your timetable and registering in PAUL. We recommend that you wait for this introduction before booking.

5.

Activate your Library Card

To use the library and its services, you need to activate your library card online. You can do this conveniently on your PC, smartphone or similar. Details can be found in the catalog blog

Student councils

The student councils are often one of the first points of contact for new students and will provide you with help and advice during the orientation days. In addition, the student councils will provide you with both your fresher's bag and the code for your digital fresher's bag which is provided by the ASTA and contains digital vouchers for the start of your studies, with which you can discover Paderborn at a "student price". You can find the link to your student council here.
