Berufsorientierungsseminar 2013

Overview

Young people facing the transition into the training and job market often find it difficult to make the right choice given the wealth of different influences and information available. It is therefore important to find out about the world of work and prospects after school as well as their own wishes, strengths and weaknesses at an early stage. 

For special needs pupils at Martinusschule Kerpen, the 2013 careers orientation seminar is an active, multi-day careers orientation seminar. During the five-day careers orientation camp, the pupils get to know 20 different professions and occupational areas and the different requirements associated with them. 

On the one hand, the concept is about implementing and evaluating activating tasks for career orientation and, on the other hand, taking a closer look at the embedding of career orientation seminars at the school itself and systematically recording the advantages and disadvantages that arise. This goes hand in hand with the integration of video training for job applications and their embedding in school contexts. In addition, learning groups must competitively and actively carry out tasks (woodworking such as nailing, object construction, etc., sorting tasks, personal care tasks, troubleshooting, landscaping/natural design tasks, etc.) from various professions as well as a major task themselves and evaluate themselves and their group members in terms of interest and task fulfillment in a competence-oriented manner. For this purpose, networked forms of competence measurement using tablets are established and examined for their implementation variants.
