Members of the NEPTUN research group have recently published two peer-reviewed articles in tm - Technisches Messen, a journal focusing on research in measurement systems and methods. In their article "Estimation of piezoelectric material parameters of ring-shaped specimens", Olga Friesen et al. describe an inverse method for piezoelectric material identification using a piezoceramic ring, a geometry central to high-power ultrasound applications. A similar method is described by Kevin Koch et al. in "Neuronale Netze zur Startwertsch?tzung bei der Identifikation piezoelektrischer Materialparameter" (Neural networks for initial value estimation in the identification of piezoelectric material parameters). The approach presented uses machine learning based methods to improve the performance of the material parameter estimation process.
