Lec­ture series "Leg­al think­ing in dia­logue"

In the winter semester, Paderborn University will be hosting an interdisciplinary lecture series on the topic of "Legal Thought in Conversation". It is organised by the Seminar for Jewish Studies, the Paderborn Institute for Islamic Theology (PIIT) and the Centre for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies (ZEKK) at Paderborn University in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Jüdisch-Christliche Zusammenarbeit Paderborn e.V. (GCJZ). The organisers are Prof. Dr. Elisa Klapheck and Junior Prof. Dr. Idris Nassery. On Tuesday, 19 November, Klapheck will speak from 4 to 6 p.m. in room L2.201 on the topic "Political theology of democracy. A Jewish perspective". All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.

About the lecture series

The interdisciplinary lecture series explores historical developments, central legal concepts and their contemporary relevance in the context of religious and secular legal spaces. Renowned experts will shed light on topics such as human dignity, tolerance and religious law in the modern state. Interested parties can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Islamic and Jewish law and their relationship to the rule of law and democracy and discuss them together. The lecture series is sponsored by the MRK NRW from the funds for measures against anti-Semitism and is part of the series organised with the Equal Opportunities Office and the Central Student Advisory Service. series on language and action skills in dealing with anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.
