Surveys on the quality of study programmes and teaching
The surveys on the quality of teaching and learning are an important part of the quality management system. They record the assessments of students, graduates and alumni as a building block for examining the fulfilment of the necessary functions of studying and teaching (e.g. studyability and employability). In addition, the survey results provide insight into the conditions and obstacles to academic success.
Access to survey data for scientific research
In duly substantiated exceptional cases, it is possible to use the respondents' answers from the surveys for scientific work. The responses are available as an SPSS dataset.
A procedure was developed for this in 2015 (updated in 2019) in consultation with the data protection officer at Paderborn University, which includes the following steps:
- Application
- Review of the application by the data protection officer and department 6.1
- Reviewing discussion between the applicant, the data protection officer and department 6.1
- Submission of a declaration of commitment to maintain data secrecy by the applicant
- Scientific evaluation of the responses by the applicant
- Submission of a specimen copy of the scientific work to subject area 6.1
- Recorded deletion of data by the applicant
