Target group | This course is aimed at employees who have no or very little knowledge of English and would like to build up their English skills. |

Content | This is a general English course suitable for university employees who would like to start learning English. We will be working on all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) with the Touchstone English course book at A1 level, which offers engaging texts, audios and exercises aimed at motivating participants and boosting their confidence to communicate in English in everyday situations. The course content will be tailored to the participants’ feedback during the course and may include the following topics:

Trainer | Mahynoor Schindel |
Trainer?s background | Mahynoor Schindel joined the ZfS as a freelance teacher in 2024 where she teaches English. She has a BA in French from the University of Leeds, a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from International House in London and is about to finish her MA in Applied Linguistics with the University of Birmingham. Originally from the UK, she has lived and worked in Paderborn as an English language teacher in adult education and has led group and individual classes at various local well-known companies and the VHS for many years. Mahynoor is passionate about languages and is especially interested in corpus linguistics and sociolinguistics. |
Deadline | 10.03.2025 On the registration deadline, we decide on the basis of the registrations whether an event can take place or not. Therefore, please register as soon as possible if you are interested! The more registrations we receive, the more securely we can organise the event. Of course, you can still register after the registration deadline if there are still places available. |
