Create PAUL user account

If you would like to submit an application to Paderborn University, you will need a PAUL user account.

Notes on registration:

  • Your access data will be sent to the registered e-mail address. It is therefore important that the address is valid, that you have access to the mailbox and that it is not full.
  • It can take up to three hours for the access data to be delivered.

Did you already have a PAUL student account that is now inactive? Do not create a new account, contact bewerbung@upb.de.

Register with PAUL for the first time

Log in to PAUL and start your application

3.

Search the study programme

By setting filters in the "Studienangebot" in PAUL, you can quickly find the degree programme you are looking for. If you would like to see all degree programmes that are available for you, you can also search without entering search criteria.

Please note:

  • When searching, please note the semesters (3rd column) and the notes (5th column).
  • If your desired degree programme is not listed, the degree programme is not offered in the current semester or your answers in the "My details"/"Meine Angaben" field are incorrect.
If incorrect answers are saved, you can only change them yourself as long as no application has been submitted. If you only have "open" applications, you can delete them, reset the details and start a new application. Once you have sent applications, you can no longer change the information yourself – please contact bewerbung@upb.de.
4.

Application

Start the application for your desired degree programme. Fill in all sections and make sure you provide correct information.

Depending on the application, few or no documents may be required. Most of the supporting documents are required as part of the enrolment process.

Please note: Once the application has been sent, you can no longer make any corrections. You only have the option of requesting that your application be reset by email(bewerbung@upb.de) within the application deadline (!).

5.

Monitor application status

After submitting your application, you must regularly check its status in PAUL as well as your e-mails (incl. your spam folder).

Admission-free degree programmes:
Your application will be given a new status within a few days and you will receive information on enrolment by email.

Admission-restricted degree programmes:
Admission/rejection notifications will be made available in PAUL under My Documents at the times specified here. You will receive information on enrolment (incl. deadline) in the notice of admission.

International applicants:
If your application has the status "Contact IO", please contact the International Office.

6.

Request enrolment

As soon as your application shows the status "Imma-Antrag m?glich", you can request online enrolment ("Online-Immatrikulation") in PAUL.

The required enrolment documents must be uploaded in standard file formats. Once you have completed all the relevant fields, you can submit the enrolment request.

Please note: If your application shows the status "Imma-Antrag unvollst?ndig" in the following days, documents/information are missing or incorrect. Processing of the enrolment request is then reactivated. The application now also contains the processing status page, which lists the documents that need to be added or corrected.

Important: Enrolment is also only possible within the corresponding enrolment deadlines possible.

You will be informed by e-mail when enrolment is complete.

We look forward to seeing you!
